A bit shaken and grazed but all ok and only minor damage to the bike. I made it to service and fuel stop and Martin checked the bike over and all seemed fine. I headed out of service and had only covered around 3 km when a gear box fault became apparent. Knowing the service van had left when I did there was little chance of getting back to the van to try and sort it so I decided to cautiously carry on and was caught up by another rider Ronan Rodgerson who offered to follow me back the last 60 km through the stage. We were eventually passed by other bikes, quads and buggies and finally got back to the bivouac at around 7.30pm. Martin confirmed my suspicion that it was a broken selector spring so no riding for me tomorrow! Going to get it fixed tomorrow and hope to be out the day after. Disappointed not to have been able to ride tomorrow as the ferry is leaving for another island where the whole of the stage is being held. To sum it up, for me, today was without doubt one of the most rewarding days I've had out on a dirt bike! Just buzzing, now to try and fix my bike!
